Our Mission

Friends of Lang-Carson Park (FOLC) is a group of neighborhood volunteers from Reynoldstown and surrounding communities who are committed to implementing the community's vision for the park. The group organized in the summer of 2013 with the goal of connecting the City of Atlanta Department of Parks and Recreation, Park Pride, and Atlanta BeltLine with the neighborhood. We recognize the significant opportunity Lang-Carson presents due to its location as a future BeltLine Park. It is our goal to expand the current size of the park and develop the recreation center to meet the needs of the surrounding communities and neighbors based on the BeltLine master plan developed for the park. Friends of Lang-Carson's mission as an organization is to ensure the full potential of the park as a beautiful and safe place for all to enjoy.

Where are we now?

Currently, Reynoldstown has an extremely low amount of parkland in relation to the population of the area. According to national standards...

Lang-Carson Park includes a multi-use recreation center which means the park has a service area that reaches beyond Reynoldstown to neighborhoods such as Edgewood, Cabbagetown and East Atlanta. Lang-Carson Park is classified as a community park, however, it is currently undersized for a community park and is actually functions more as a neighborhood park. More about the master plan...

The future of Lang-Carson Park

As The BeltLine's Eastside Trail begins to make its way through Reynoldstown, Friends of Lang-Carson Park plans to develop Lang-Carson Park by following the BeltLine master plan. The Master Plan includes regrading and landscaping areas of the park to make it highly visible to the neighborhood and ADA compliant, updating the multi-use recreation center, and expanding the acreage of the park to meet the needs of the community.
